Shaun and I were in Norfolk VA together this last week. He got us a room on the beach with a great view. This is my long time friend: Julie, she just retired from the Navy as a LCDR and has civilian job in the area. She came by and took Shaun and I to brunch last Sunday.
I put Shaun on a plane Tuesday night to Bahrain. He has arrived safe and sound....I am currently in Columbus Georgia visiting my sister and Steven (aka "the little people") and my parents are also in town.
Although I am long gone from Ft. Jax South Carolina....I thought everyone would get a kick out of seeing how I spent my EXCITING Friday nights! Here is me cleaning my M16 in our nasty "cabin" (500 squ ft at best) and 4 women......good times!

Ok, I survived my "NARMY " training! These are two of my roommates, which I shared a 500 squ ft, one bath cabin with. Beth is in the middle, she is going to Iraq and Christin is on the right and headed to Kuwait. We are the three amigos and had a great time......ok, it made the time acceptable! See, there are some states that I am still allowed to carry a weapon in!

Ok, here it is.....a fire hydrant worthy of Fenway! Some local art work in downtown Columbia South Carolina.
This is Columbia South Carolina's version of Ponch. It is on the outside of a downtown grill. We had to take a picture in honor of Mike's Poncho! This was Easter Sunday, on our walk-about in downtown.
Shaun drove down from Norfolk to spend Easter weekend with me. This was at a Roof-top Grill in downtown Columbia South Carolina, we had a grand time! Looks like Shaun will be heading to Bahrain the end of April ahead of me.

Ok, I'm here in South Carolina @ a hole in the wall called: Ft Jackson. In 5 days I have shot over 600 rounds of M16 and 9mm. That is the best part of this training. This was taken @ 7am, oh, did I mention we had a class in egressing out of a hummer when it rolls over....and first aide.
My days usually consist of being in this get-up and on the line by 0500 and return to a "cabin" that houses 4 of us around 5:30 or 6pm. This entire outfit as you see it....adds roughly 60lbs to me weapons and all. We wear this all day everyday...it's interesting, but tiring. I am officially in the "NARMY"!
