One last photo!
This is in front of Steven and Tracy's house in Georgia. My sister bought this gnome as an April fool's joke, I took it and made a prank sign: "Help Stop garden Gnome Abuse, www.people4gnomes.org" Which caused quite a stir in the neighborhood with many drives slowing and even stopping to read the sign. The question I have....how many went on the web to find the website I made up? hahaha!
Hello everyone from Washington DC!
I board a plane for Bahrain tonight. As of this afternoon my cell phone will no longer work. My personal email: rinda.hillis@gmail.com As I board this adventure, I have missed emotions....this has not been an easy journey for Shaun and I thus far. We took a $19K hit yesterday as Shaun was told that the type of orders he is on do not entitle him to a housing allowance.....but our bills and financial responsibility for his children didn't go away.....hopefully that will be the last financial blow....but I have a feeling it won't be. There have been a lot of pot-holes on this road of adventure we are on. As of right now, Shaun and I both are currently scheduled to return from Bahrain 25 June 2010. I look forward to seeing all of you then. I will continue to do my best to update the blog at least once a week with a new photo or two. Our first order of business is to find a place to live! All the best to you-all and stay safe!
Love, Rinda

Shaun and I were in Norfolk VA together this last week. He got us a room on the beach with a great view. This is my long time friend: Julie, she just retired from the Navy as a LCDR and has civilian job in the area. She came by and took Shaun and I to brunch last Sunday.
I put Shaun on a plane Tuesday night to Bahrain. He has arrived safe and sound....I am currently in Columbus Georgia visiting my sister and Steven (aka "the little people") and my parents are also in town.
Although I am long gone from Ft. Jax South Carolina....I thought everyone would get a kick out of seeing how I spent my EXCITING Friday nights! Here is me cleaning my M16 in our nasty "cabin" (500 squ ft at best) and 4 women......good times!

Ok, I survived my "NARMY " training! These are two of my roommates, which I shared a 500 squ ft, one bath cabin with. Beth is in the middle, she is going to Iraq and Christin is on the right and headed to Kuwait. We are the three amigos and had a great time......ok, it made the time acceptable! See, there are some states that I am still allowed to carry a weapon in!

Ok, here it is.....a fire hydrant worthy of Fenway! Some local art work in downtown Columbia South Carolina.
This is Columbia South Carolina's version of Ponch. It is on the outside of a downtown grill. We had to take a picture in honor of Mike's Poncho! This was Easter Sunday, on our walk-about in downtown.
